While observing the high level of poverty and financial hardship of most retired officers and men of Nigeria Police Force; Late CP Frank Odita (Rtd.), out of his benevolent, kind and compassionate heart, was inspired to initiate the National Police Empowerment Programme, a nationwide training for officers and men of Nigeria Police Force. The training was officially approved by the then Inspector-General of Nigeria Police Force, IGP M. D. Abubakar (Rtd.) on 21st June, 2012.
In admittance, acknowledgement and appreciation of the positive impacts of the training on the lives of officers and men of Nigeria Police Force, the programme has been revalidated by successive Inspectors-General of Nigeria Police Force after IGP M. D. Abubarkar (Rtd.), including the incumbent Inspector-General of Nigeria Police Force – IGP Kayode Egbetokun – who was trained in the National Police Empowerment Programme in 2013 as an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
It is very instructive to note that the training is approved for all the state and zonal police commands in Nigeria. The training has added very significant and meaningful value to the lives of thousands of officers and men of Nigeria Police Force across the country, since its inception. Since the approval of the programme in 2012, it was coordinated by Skyheight Success Consult until the death of the CP Frank Odita (Rtd.), the initiator of the training, when Frank Odita Memorial Foundation (FOMF) was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria.
The National Police Empowerment Programme is a financial enlightenment and personal financial management training that empowers officers and men of Nigeria Police Force across the country to effectively and efficiently manage their finances. It achieves this noble and laudable objective by intimating them with the fundamental principles of personal financial management. The training empowers them to enjoy happy, successful, blissful and fruitful lives ‘during’ and ‘after’ their service years.
It is very imperative to note that in addition to serving as a tool for financial enlightenment and empowerment of officers and men of Nigeria Police Force, the empowerment programme also plays an enviable role in repositioning the Nigeria Police Force by equiping the Officers and Men of the Nigeria Police across the country with some knowledge and skills that assists them to be more disposed to render more meritorious services to the nation in their capacities as security personnel. |
